Hi, I'm Matt. I build websites people are glad they own.
Independent developer and Official Sanity Partner. Websites, web apps, and AI workflows for marketing teams, design studios, and enterprise brands — built to fit how your team already works.
Where I've worked
- Principal engineer
Fortivex
Ongoing principal-engineer role at a digital agency — architecture, code review, and the builds nobody else wants to estimate.
- Full build, embedded development
Blue Cadet
The experience-design agency brought me in to develop a full build, working alongside their producer, content, and design team — inside their process, on their timeline.
- Senior software engineer
The Motley Fool
Ongoing senior engineering contract on a content platform serving millions of readers.
- Own product
Chipter
My own product platform — Next.js, Sanity, Remotion video automation, AI assist — designed, built, and shipped in-house.
Three ways to work with me
- For teams
Embedded development
A senior developer inside your marketing, design, or engineering team — overflow builds, CMS migrations, or a technical lead for a big launch. Hourly or retainer.
- Design to deploy
Websites and web apps, fixed price
Hand me the whole thing. I write the code and bring in designers and writers I trust when the project needs them. Fast, accessible, 95+ Lighthouse, one price agreed up front.
- Advisory
Consulting
Architecture and code review, stack and CMS selection, performance and SEO audits, or ongoing technical advisory — a principal engineer on call without the hire.
Websites built to last
- 2026 · Moving On Up LLC
We Move Montana
Moving On Up, a Missoula moving company with 123+ five-star Google reviews, traded a 2000s-era BlueVoda site for a phone-first Astro build with perfect Lighthouse and agent-readiness scores, made to turn the traffic it already earns into calls, texts, and quotes.
- 2026 · Chipter
A Full-Stack Content Platform for Chip Reviews
My own chip-review platform, where one review becomes an article, social videos, and a newsletter in one brand voice. Built on Sanity, Next.js, and Remotion.
- 2024 · Quality Pump Service
Made in Montana for Montanans
Quality Pump Service, family-run well pump specialists in Potomac Montana, partnered with me to build a professional lead-generating website.
Montana businesses
McKay Painting, Montana Wildlife Federation, Kiki Glass, MyWorkBalance, Hufford Homestead, Truthbomb Social, Quality Pump Service, Kootenai Organics, Copilot CBD, Phish directory, Transcend Mind & Body, Bar Bangers Motorcycle Club.
Writing
The Chip Review Site I Waited 14 Years to Build
In 2011 I couldn't find a good chip review. Christmas 2025, I built one. What building Chipter taught me about content platforms, AI voice, and automation.
